Traditional partial dentures rely on a cobalt-chromium metal framework and visible clasps. For patients who want to avoid metal, or the look of it, flexible Valplast or Acetal partials are a comfortable, discreet alternative.
Made from biocompatible, metal-free materials, these partials replace one or several missing teeth and can be taken out for cleaning. They tend to be lighter and less noticeable than metal-based designs. It's worth being honest that a removable partial is never as comfortable as a fixed option like an implant. But it may be the right choice if you don't have enough bone for implants, if you'd rather not have anything surgically embedded in your bone, or as a good interim option while you save up for something more permanent.
