Whitening doesn't have to mean sensitivity and harsh chemicals. KöR is a professional whitening system designed to be as gentle and clean as possible while still using medical-grade peroxide.
A few things make it gentler. The gels are water-based and kept continuously refrigerated, which lets KöR skip the harsh chemical stabilizers and added acids many whitening products rely on, so there's less irritation and sensitivity. Your trays are custom-made to seal out saliva, so lower-osmolality gels can be used that stay active for hours without pulling fluid out of the teeth the way many over-the-counter kits do. We also use a separate, biocompatible desensitizing solution that plugs the tiny tubules in the teeth before and after, which usually means little to no sensitivity, even for people who've had trouble with whitening before.
Most of the whitening happens comfortably at home. You wear your custom trays while you sleep, usually for about two weeks, so the gentle gel can work for 6-10 hours at a time instead of the 30-60 minutes typical of most kits. After that at-home phase, you come in for an in-office visit where we apply a stronger KöR gel in carefully timed cycles while protecting your gums and watching your comfort, for a final, controlled jump in brightness. From there, most people only need an occasional single night at home with their trays to maintain their shade long term.
